I agree that in this case he doesn't need a 3D program at all and to make the game with placeholders is fine - that's what I do. ![]() :D This is my opinion but also based on years of frustration, experience. I mean that would really make it look different at least. and maybe gimp/photoshop to help crop and mask things. If I were going to make a CCG, I would use crayons on paper with a flat bed scanner. So best is to toss in some good hand drawn placeholders, take a few seconds in Paint to sketch something out, then worry about graphics later. The more graphics I try to do(more so if I try to make them decent and not just programmer art), the less game I get done. ![]() I've had to learn this over time even though I was told over and over early on, but I'm an artist at heart so I want to work on graphics too. It pays to be feature complete and have nearly no polished graphics. Not to discourage you from learning or using 3D in this case, but before graphics you have to design and prototype your game first. That said, I don't think you should be worrying about 3D, IMO. ![]() ![]() You can even use it for 2D rendering if you like. Blender can be rewarding to learn, and is quickly becoming an indie standard what, with really good tutorials all over YouTube. I humbly disagree with even needing 3D in this case.
